Jeff Costello Assigned to Everblades

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have assigned left wing Jeff Costello to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today. Costello, 23, did not play in Syracuse's first two regular season games after appearing in the club's three preseason contests.

The 6-foot, 205-pound Milwaukee, Wisconsin native spent the last four years playing for Notre Dame (Hockey East). Costello captained the Fighting Irish as a senior and posted 13 goals, a career high, and nine assists in 40 games. Playing 145 games in his Notre Dame career, Costello amassed 41 goals, 41 assists and 239 penalty minutes.

Costello was drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. The Vancouver Canucks acquired Costello's rights in a March trade and dealt them to the Tampa Bay Lightning June 27. He was signed to a one-year AHL contract Aug. 25.
