Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - On Tuesday, October 14, Traditions at the Glen will be the site of the 4th annual Binghamton Senators Golf Tournament to benefit the Wendy's Walk for Kids. For the past four years, Binghamton Senators players and coaches have participated in the tournament alongside the public to raise money for the local charity. This year, the tournament will occur from 12p.m. to 7p.m. Wendy's Walk for Kids forecasts that there will be 125 golfers in attendance and the charity golf tournament will raise between $20-25,000.

"This is one of our major events for the year and we have a great tournament planned. We are extremely grateful to have worked with the Binghamton Senators over the past four years; they have been a big supporter of the Wendy's Walk for Kids and the impact it has on the local community," said Anne Williams, restaurateur and co-founder of Wendy's Walk for Kids. "We had an extremely successful walk during the Dick's Open and the charity dinner with the Champion Binghamton Mets was also a great event that raised a lot of money to help children in our area. We will have another record year for monies raised in 2014 and would like to thank the many businesses, organizations, and our community as a whole that makes it all possible."

The tournament will be held at Traditions at the Glen, which features an 18-hole championship golf course. Traditions has been a sponsor and donor for the Wendy's Walk for Kids throughout the years and has readied the course for this important tournament for a great cause.

"We are honored to have been selected to host this year's B-Sens charity golf tournament," said Bill Walsh, partner in Traditions at the Glen. "The Wendy's Walk for Kids is a great organization that helps a lot of wonderful charities in our community. As part of our ongoing commitment to our region and its residents that we have expressed throughout our bid for a gaming license, we are proud to sponsor the Wendy's Walk for Kids and will continue to support the Walk and many other organizations throughout the Southern Tier through our newly formed Traditions Foundation."

Binghamton Senators players and coaches will be available for interviews from 11a.m. to 12p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, at Traditions. Once the tournament begins at 12p.m., Binghamton Senators staff will be able to escort the media for tournament footage or interviews throughout the course during the day.

"All of us with the Binghamton Senators have a special place in our hearts for groups like the Wendy's Walk for Kids that do so much good in our region," said Tom Mitchell, Executive Vice President of Operations for the Binghamton Senators. "We firmly believe in not just being an entertainment venue in the Southern Tier, but being actively involved in the community. We are excited for this year's tournament and the impact it will have on the lives of so many in need."

The beneficiaries for charitable funds this year from Wendy's Walk for Kids are the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, the Binghamton JCC, ACHIEVE, and Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
