LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. - The Lake Elsinore Storm would like to officially announce that third baseman, Jedd Gyorko, will represent the Storm on the 2011 California League Mid-Season All-Star team. The annual game, that pits the California League's best against the top players of the Carolina League, is scheduled to take place the night of Tuesday, June 21 in Modesto. The matchup has taken place 14 times since 1996 with the series tied at six wins apiece with two ties.

Just two months into the season, the West Virginia University alum leads the California League in games played(59), at bats(247), runs scored(57), hits(91), doubles(28), RBI(60) and total bases(160). "Jedd is a threat every time he walks to the plate," said interim manager/hitting coach Phil Plantier. "To be a league leader in virtually every offensive category in his first full season is a great start to his professional career." Possibly one of the most productive hitters in Storm history, Gyorko is on pace to break multiple records if he plays a full season in Lake Elsinore.
