
Jax Re-Sign Bruce Alexander

PORTLAND, December 16, 2008 - The Portland LumberJax have re-signed defenseman Bruce Alexander to a one-year contract, Head Coach/General Manager Derek Keenan announced today. Alexander appeared in four regular season games last season for the Jax, tallying one assist and collecting two loose balls.
The nine-year National Lacrosse League veteran appeared in three games during Portland's run to the Champion's Cup Final, scoring Portland's first goal in the Championship Game. He also collected 10 loose balls during the postseason.
The Victoria, British Columbia native is sixth in team history with 68 points, fourth with 50 assists and eight with 35 games played.
The Jax also placed transition player Adam Bysouth and defenseman Brad MacDonald on the Protected Player List. Portland also released defensemen Ray Guze and Jamison Whitehead and forward Peter Tellis.
