December 16, 2008 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Portland Lumberjax News Release
PORTLAND, December 16, 2008 - It's almost game time. All that separates the Portland LumberJax and the start of the 2009 season is one final weekend of Training Camp. The Jax will practice from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, December 20th at the Rose Garden Arena. Saturday's practice is for season ticket holders only. Doors to the arena will open at 12:30 p.m. and a day of lacrosse 101 turf talks with players and coaches will serve as the undercard before the Jax practice from 3-5 p.m.
This is the final opportunity for players to shake out any rust before the season opener on Saturday, January 3rd when Portland hosts the Minnesota Swarm at 7:30 p.m.
"Everyone will be here minus goalie Matt Disher," said Head Coach/General Manager Derek Keenan. "I expect Saturday to be a really good day with our first look at the home field."
