Jax Gift Packs Available Now

November 15, 2007 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Portland Lumberjax News Release

The Portland LumberJax are indeed back for the 2008 season. It was an interesting couple of weeks, but the Jax will be playing in less than two months. Here's what transpired during a two-week stretch that began on October 16 and culminated on October 25.

October 16: After the failed negotiations between the Professional Lacrosse Player's Association (PLPA) and the National Lacrosse League to agree on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the 2008 season was officially cancelled.

October 25: Nine days after the 2008 season was cancelled, the PLPA and NLL agreed to a new seven-year CBA that began immediately, thus saving the 2008 season.

The team and all of its players are back and stronger than ever. The new 2008 schedule was released in early November, with the Jax season and home opener on January 12th against the New York Titans at 7:30 p.m. at the Rose Garden.

In addition to a loaded schedule that features three primetime Saturday night games at the Rose Garden, the Jax also picked up the second best player in the NLL, Dan Dawson, during the Dispersal Draft. Formerly of the Arizona Sting, Dawson was second in the NLL in points (107), third in goals scored (47) and second in assists (60) during the 2007 season.

Dawson will be on center stage as he and the Jax look to dominate the rest of the NLL during 2008.

THE JAX WANT YOU

With the cancellation and then revival of the 2008 season, the local Portland media did not capitalize on the season being saved. The team received less than half of the coverage they received when negotiations failed initially.

This disparity in coverage left many of our local fans in the dark about the status of the franchise. The Jax want to encourage each and every one of you to write your local media outlets and express your excitement for the 2008 season. We have put together a great product that we know will exceed everyone's expectations this season!

DECK THE HALLS.... WITH SAVINGS

With the holidays looming, it's never too early to start looking for stocking stuffers! The Jax have put together three ticket packs that are jammed-full of savings and bursting with fun.

The Holiday Pack offers two tickets for the first two games. Tickets in the 100 and 200 Sides are available in addition to the very popular 100 and 200 level Ends. Two tickets in the 100 level End cost $75, a $33 saving from the normal rate and the savings only increase from there.

The Jax also offer a Flex Pack that includes two tickets to any four games of one's choosing. That's half of the home schedule at a discounted rate. Like the holiday pack, tickets in the 100 and 200 level ends and 100 and 200 level sides are immediately available.

If the Holiday and Flex Packs are not for you, then the Weeknight Pack is a can't miss. The Jax play three weeknight home games, so this pack offers one ticket to each of those three games. Tickets are available throughout the Rose Garden, so secure your tickets before someone else does.

To purchase your Holiday Pack or lineup a Flex or Weeknight Pack, call the Jax ticket line at (503)797-9739 or log onto PortlandJax.com for more details. Go Jax!
