TODAY'S NEWS
The Apollos held their first joint practice of training camp on Wednesday, as the Arizona Hotshots hit visited the Apollos at the University of the Incarnate Word.
HOTSHOTS/APOLLOS JOINT PRACTICE: The Apollos and the Hotshots got to go against someone other than their teammates as the two teams held a joint practice Wednesday. In a joint media session, Hotshots head coach Rick Neuheisel remarked that he'd love the two teams to see each other in Las Vegas for the Alliance championship game, to which Apollos head coach Steve Spurrier said, "That would be wonderful. Now, during the regular season we're not going to be high-fiving and hugging before the game (laughs). Naw, not the regular game, but during practice we're all on the same team practice-wise. When the season starts, hey, we're trying to beat him, he's trying to beat us, and that's the way it should be."
FAMILIAR FACES: Bringing two Alliance teams together allowed players to see some familiar faces, whether it was players they competed against or teammates in college. Apollos defensive end Josh Banks Sr. and Hotshots quarterback John Wolford, who played together at Wake Forest from 2014-16, even got to go against each other at practice. Banks called the experience, "Amazing, man. Johnny's my guy. He's a great football player - I'm surprised he's here, man. He's a great quarterback, so it's good to actually see him again."
GAMEDAY PARKING ON SALE: Apollos game day parking is now on sale.
