
Jamestown Vikings Sign Two Players with Local Ties

(Jamestown, NY) Jamestown Vikings General Manager Jeff Moran today announced that the team has signed two players with ties to the area. Goaltender Justin Garay and Forward Evan Lagace have agreed to terms with the first year team playing in the new Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL).
Justin Garay, 20, from Monaca, Pennsylvania played four years in the OHL; two seasons with the Plymouth Whalers and two seasons with the Erie Otters. He appeared in 54 games in the OHL and posted a shutout with Plymouth during the 2005-06 season.
Evan Lagace, 23, from Erie, Pennsylvania is currently the first-year coach of the Mercyhurst Prep club team. The 6'-1", 220lbs. forward last played for the University of Ottawa in 2003-04. Lagace appeared in 21 games for the Erie Otters in 2002-03. He's the son of former Quebec Nordique and Erie Golden Blade Pierre Lagace. "I'm extremely excited to be playing so close to home," said Evan Lagace. "The fan support I received in Erie was incredible and it will be nice to see familiar faces in the stands in Jamestown."

The Jamestown Vikings home opening weekend is this coming Friday & Saturday, November 2nd & 3rd. Friday night, the Vikings host the Valley Forge Freedom @ 7:30pm and on Saturday night, the Vikings face off with the Mon Valley Thunder @ 7:30pm.
