(Belle Vernon, PA) The Mon Valley Thunder of the new Mid-Atlantic Hockey League today announced that Mr. William L. Faddis and Mr. James R. Logue have purchased the new professional hockey team which begins play this Friday with their home opener at the Rostraver Ice Garden in Belle Vernon, PA.
Both owners are natives of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Mr. Faddis is from Carmichaels, PA and Mr. Logue is originally from Pittsburgh and now lives in Jefferson Hills. Both are area business owners and are ex military. Bill Faddis spent over ten years in the Army and Jim Logue is waiting for the retirement paperwork to finalize his serving over twenty years in the Navy Reserves.
"We are excited to bring this opportunity to the Mon Valley," said Jim Logue. "We intend to grow the sport of hockey in the area by working with schools and junior hockey programs as well as double and triple A pro hockey leagues. We will offer a great on ice product and a fun filled entertainment venue for the fans during breaks and intermissions."
The Mon Valley Thunder home opener is this coming Friday night, November 2nd, as the Thunder hosts the Wooster Warriors @ 7:30pm at the Rostraver Ice Garden; located at Route 51 & Gallatin Road in Belle Vernon.
The Mon Valley Thunder is one of five teams in the new Mid-Atlantic Hockey League playing teams from Indiana, PA; Jamestown, NY; Valley Forge, PA; and Wooster, OH.
