
Jackson's Langaigne and Pensacola's Kranawetter nab weekly Central League awards

Durham, N.C. -- Jackson's Selwyn Langaigne and Pensacola's Josh Kranawetter were selected by SportsTicker as the Central Baseball League Batter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, on Monday.
Langaigne, who is in his 11th year of professional baseball, had 15 hits in 26 at-bats for a .577 average, including six doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI. In addition, he scored 12 times and stole four bases along with a slugging percentage of 1.038 for Jackson, which has won five of its last seven game.
Kranawetter, who repeats as Pitcher of the Week, upped his winning streak to four with a complete game shut out of Amarillo on June 12. In that game, he allowed only two hits and struck out 12 and now leads the league with 63 K's. Kranawetter, who also pitched an inning of scoreless relief on June 9, leads the league with a 1.88 ERA and has allowed only two runs in his last 28 innings of work.
