
Jackson's Hot Start Earns Him Player of the Week

FARGO, ND- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Sioux City Explorers' C Daniel Jackson has been named this week's Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending May 20.
Jackson is off to a red-hot start for the Explorers, despite hitting at the bottom of the lineup. Jackson's slash line from the nine spot, .583/.583/.688, helped Sioux City to a 3-1 season opening-series win over the Lincoln Saltdogs.
Jackson began his professional career with the Explorers last season after putting together a solid collegiate career at Long Beach State University. Jackson appeared in 157 games for the Dirtbags, hitting .288 with 11 home runs and 79 RBIs. He joined Sioux City last season and played in 29 games, batting .214 with one home run and five RBIs.
Jackson is on pace to shatter his totals from his first professional season; 1 HR, 12 Hits, 5 RBIs, having already collected over half the hits (7) and RBIs (3) that he had all of last year.
The Explorers open a road series with Sioux Falls on Tuesday May 22. Game one is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. Central Time and can be viewed on americanassociationbaseball.tv.
