Jacks Get Ready for Three-In-Three Weekend

The Odessa Jackalopes, following a solid weekend in Shreveport, are getting ready for their first home three-in-three weekend of the season as they take on Shreveport Friday and Saturday, and Amarillo on Sunday afternoon.

Last weekend the Jacks were able to get the first two points of the weekend, blanking the Shreveport MudBugs 2-0 on Friday. Goals courtesy of Teddy Manlove, and Tommy Wright were the difference makers in that contest. Saturday was a different story as it was the Jacks, who found themselves down 2-0 after just 20 minutes of play. They followed that up with a four goal explosion in the 2nd period, while Shreveport would gain one back in the dying seconds of the second frame. Shreveport would tie the game in the 3rd, on a power play, before eventually scoring the game winner in overtime. Cam Dunn scored two for the Jacks in the OTL, while James Richman notched his 1st NAHL goal and his 1st multi point game, with an assist on the 1st Jacks goal.

The MudBugs come into Odessa directly above the Jacks in the standings. They are 6 points above Odessa, in 6th place. This will be a big weekend for the Jacks in the standings, as they look to gain 6 pts and continue the much improved play as of late. Head Coach Scott Deur was speaking to the media on Wednesday, and mentioned that the special teams is one area he looks for the Jacks to improve on during the stretch to the Christmas break.

As for Sunday's opponent, the Amarillo Wranglers, they sit in 4th place in the South division with a 13-8-1 record. In their last ten contests they are 4-5-1. They will also be playing a three-in-three weekend this weekend, as they take on the El Paso Rhinos Friday and Saturday night in El Paso.
