Joliet JackHammers News Release

JOLIET, IL - The holiday season is quickly approaching and with that, the Joliet JackHammers are once again asking for your best holiday designs for our holiday cards. The team is asking for children in grades K-8 to come up with their best design that incorporates the holidays, baseball, and the JackHammers.

"Each year, the 'Hammers send out hundreds of cards to their season ticket holders, sponsors, and other patrons so this contest is a great chance for us to show off how creative our young fans are," says Kelli Drechsel, Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator for the Joliet JackHammers.

The JackHammers will select winners from two different grade levels: K-5th and 6th-8th. The grand prize winner from each bracket will receive a JackHammers jersey, four (4) box seat tickets to the May 28, 2010 Home Opener, and the honor of throwing out a First Pitch that day as well.

Please send all drawings and designs to: Silver Cross Field, One Mayor Art Schultz Dr., Joliet, IL 60432 - Attn: Kelli Drechsel. All entries must be received by Friday, December 4th.

LOOSE GRAVEL:

The JackHammers have made a trade with the Edmonton Capitals, OF Adam Klein and LHP Ryan Paul for LHP Todd Privett and OF Kevin House. Privett had a 4-2 record with a 3.33 ERA and 52 strikeouts for the Capitals in 2009 and outfielder House hit.316 with 18 RBI in 55 games played.
