Welsh Returns to JackHammers Front Office
JOLIET, IL - The JackHammers announced today that Wade Welsh is returning to the front office as an Assistant General Manager and Director of Ticket Sales. Welsh was a member of the club's inaugural staff in 2002.
Welsh joins the JackHammers after spending the last six seasons with the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL. Wade served as the Vice President and General Manager the last four seasons with the Wings, guiding the franchise to record highs in corporate sales, group sales and ticket revenue during his tenure. The 2009-10 season was the Wings first in the ECHL and the franchise averaged 3,433 fans per game, their best average in 11 seasons. Prior to joining the league, Welsh was named the IHL General Manager of the Year for the 2007-08 campaign.
"We are thrilled to add Wade back to the JackHammers' front office staff. Wade comes back to the JackHammer organization with a wealth of knowledge and experience from his various roles within minor league sports over the past eleven years," said JackHammers Executive Vice President and General Manager Jamie Toole.
Before his days in Kalamazoo, Welsh spent a year and a half with the Missouri River Otters as the team's Assistant General Manager. Welsh also has prior baseball experience with the Quad City Mallards in addition to his time in Joliet.
"My family and I are excited to be back in Joliet and part of the JackHammers family," commented Welsh. "I'm anxious for the season to start and looking forward to a great summer of JackHammer baseball."
Wade is married to his wife, Melissa, and has two sons, Lincoln and Alexander.
