Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (30-20) rallied back from a two run deficit to beat the Charleston RiverDogs (32-18) 9-4 on Sunday afternoon. Starter T.J. Brewer recorded the win and Augusta was helped out by two costly errors by the RiverDogs.

The GreenJackets trailed 2-0 heading into the fourth inning but plated four runs to take a 4-2 lead. With runners on second and third and two outs Angel Villalona hit a grounder to third base and Brandon Laird's throw to first was low and skipped into the stands allowing two runs to score to tie the game at 2-2. Jackson Williams and Andrew Davis followed with back-to-back RBI singles to give Augusta a 4-2 lead.

Brewer (3-3) allowed three runs on six hits over six innings for the win. The right-hander also walked two and struck out four.

Augusta added a single run in the fifth inning when Garrett Baker connected for an RBI single to push the lead to 5-2.

The GreenJackets added four more runs in the sixth inning for a 9-2 lead highlighted by a three-run triple down the right-field line from Nick Noonan. With runners on second and third Francisco Peguero hit a grounder to Laird and the third baseman had the ball go under his glove for his second error of the game and Villalona scored from third base for a 6-2 lead. Shane Jordan then walked to load the bases for Noonan.

The RiverDogs took a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Walter Ibarra connected for an RBI double to right-field scoring Taylor Holiday for the first run of the game and on the play Holiday crashed into catcher Jackson Williams to jar the ball loose on the relay throw from Noonan. Ibarra took third on the play then scored on a wild pitch.

Charleston got single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to pull within 9-4 but that was as close as they would get.

The GreenJackets and RiverDogs will play an afternoon game on Memorial Day as they continue their four game series. Augusta will send left-hander Craig Clark (3-0, 4.02) to the mound. The RiverDogs counter with right-hander Dellin Betances (4-2, 3.16). First pitch is at 2:05 p.m.

Game Notes:

Augusta improved to 15-13 at home.

Augusta improved to 10 games over the .500 mark, a new season high.

Augusta has won five straight against the RiverDogs this season.

The GreenJackets won their 12th straight game over Charleston at Lake Olmstead Stadium dating back to 2006.

Nick Noonan leads the league in triples with six.
