IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals and the Reading Royals meet in Game 2 of the best-of-five Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at the Sovereign Center. The Royals defeated the Jackals in Game 1 on Tuesday night, 4-1, behind two goals from Kenny Ryan and 35 saves from Mark Owuya. The top four seeded teams in the Eastern Conference all fell in Game 1 of their opening-round series to start the week.
RESPONDING FROM SERIES-OPENING LOSSES
In each of their past two Conference Quarterfinals series, the Jackals have fallen in Game 1 before responding with decisive Game 2 victories. Elmira defeated the Florida Everblades, 5-2, in Game 2 in the 2010 American Conference Quarterfinals, and the Jackals beat the Greenville Road Warriors, 6-3, in Game 2 of the 2011 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
FIRST THOUSAND FANS RECEIVE T-SHIRTS THIS FRIDAY
The Jackals will return home this Friday to host Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals and the first 1,000 fans in the building will receive a Jackals playoff t-shirt courtesy of WYDC-TV Big Fox. PLAYOFF BROADCAST INFORMATION
Elmira's playoff radio broadcasts can be heard on 99.5 WOKN FM in the Elmira area and on 102.5 FM in Corning, as the Jackals and the Pembrook Pines Media Group work to bring you up-to-date coverage of the team's run toward the 2012 Kelly Cup. The broadcasts will begin 15 minutes prior to the start of the game with the Hilltop Inn Countdown to Face-off. They are also streamed free-of-charge on 995WOKNElmira.com.
