Dallas Jackals News Release
The Dallas Jackals and San Diego Legion entered the sheds tied up at 19-19, showcasing an exciting match of rugby from both sides.
In the second half, the Jackals saw the score shift in San Diego's favor before the visitors ultimately took this game by the score of 48-37 at Choctaw Stadium on Saturday night.
The second half did not start as smoothly for Dallas. The Pack found themselves down a 21-point hole nearing the second half water break.
However, the veteran Adriaan Booysen started the apparent comeback of the season. He recorded a try followed by a successful Martin Elias conversion that led the teams to the second half water break.
The pitch slowly turned the Jackals' way. The side shortly regained possession and pushed down toward San Diego's try line. The captain bulldozed through Legion defenders to pull his club even closer.
It was then Campbell Johnstone's turn to lift lift the Jackals' fans off their feet. The Jackals climbed back to within two points behind 38-40 in the latter half of the 78th minute.
A quick strike by the Legion followed by a successful conversion ultimately sealed the contest.
Conrado Roura scored at the 12th minute for the Jackals while Tony Malanos registered back-to-back tries in the first half. Martin Elias added points on conversions.
Final Score:
Legion: 47
Jackals: 38
