Elmira Jackals News Release
In what turned out to be a well-attended, high scoring affair, the Elmira Jackals held a public scrimmage this morning that ended in a shootout. The scrimmage lasted nearly two hours and capped an exciting first few days of practice for the Jackals.
Afterward, the Jackals announced the release of five players from the team. Forwards Matt Blake, Derrell Levy, Dave McKenna, Marc Rechlicz and Jared Thomson were cut from the Jackals, narrowing the roster down to 26 players.
The Jackals will now begin preparing for their two preseason games on Friday, October 9 against the Trenton Devils and Saturday, October 10 against the Reading Royals, with both games beginning at 7:35 PM at First Arena.
Practice this week will be held Monday through Thursday at 10 AM at First Arena, with the team eventually transitioning from the Recreational Rink to the newly iced Main Rink.
