Odessa Jackalopes News Release
ODESSA, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes are proud to announce they have tendered forward Alex Konovalov for the 2020-21 season.
A native of Summit, New Jersey, Konovalov stands at 5'10'', weighs 176 lbs and is a right-handed shot. Konovalov is coming off his first season in the United States Hockey League where he garnered 18 points (five goals and 13 assists) with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Before making the jump to the USHL Konovalov played two seasons for the New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U program.
Konovalov is currently committed to play Division I college hockey at Princeton University.
"Alex is a natural scorer with outstanding skill who is committed to attend Princeton University in 2021," said Jackalopes head coach Jason Fortier. "We are thrilled to have Alex join the Jackalopes as he adds a mature scoring threat with outstanding off ice characteristics."
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, plus or minus any trades, which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft. (Information provided by NAHL.com)
