It's Time To \'Release your Rage'
April 21, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
RiverCity Rage News Release
It's for the armchair quarterback, the weekend warrior, the dreamer, or any guy who's ever watched an NIFL game and said to himself "hey, I'll bet I could do that."
Well, let's find out!!
The RiverCity Rage of the National Indoor Football League is offering a one game pro contract on E-Bay for any male 18 or older, with proceeds to benefit the United Way of St. Louis. The starting bid is $999, with subsequent bids in $10 increments. The auction will last for ten days.
Rage Director of Corporate Sales Allen Gossett says he looks for the bidding to be competitive. "I've been involved in this before with minor league baseball. Basically, we offered just one at-bat and an outfield position for only a half inning and still were able to raise a good deal of money for charity. This is so much better, a real opportunity for a Rage fan to pad up, slip on the Rage jersey, hitch up the pants, lace up the cleats, and put on the glittering black helmet with the red raging bull logo, and let loose in front of family, friends, and lots of screaming fans at Savvis Center. It's a real chance to make a once in a lifetime dream come true, something you'll remember forever."
Here's what you get!!
A one game pro NIFL contract. It's yours to keep!
A chance to practice with the RiverCity Rage prior to
Your very own Rage game jersey to take home
You'll be the honorary captain for the game on Friday, June 23rd at Savvis Center when the RiverCity Rage play the Tennessee Riversharks And most exciting of all, YOU will be on the field, playing on the kick-off coverage team throughout the entire first quarter. Rage Head Football Coach Mike Wyatt says that alone should guarantee the winning bidder lots of playing time. "In this high scoring league, especially with our offense, that's more than likely going to provide the winner with several, if not more, chances to show his stuff. There were five first quarter scores in our last game against Billings, and of course there's always the opening kick-off. Sure it's for charity, fun and memories for the person involved, but it's still good to know you most likely will be on the field a number of times."
The winning bidder will be responsible for transportation to and from the game. The Rage will take no responsibility for any injury that may result from participation during the game and the winning bidder must sign an injury waiver before being allowed on the field. The Rage E-Bay-United Way Game Auction is open to males only. You must be 18 years of age or older to bid.
All proceeds will benefit the United Way of St. Louis.
