Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
After this past weekend's home series, the Johnstown Tomahawks have entered a 3-way tie for 2nd place in the East Division, after taking 3 of 4 points against the division leading New Jersey Titans.
Fans were treated to two exciting contests on home ice that featured a special appearance by Pittsburgh Penguins legend Phil Bourque on Friday, a thrilling offensive contest on Saturday that took a shootout to decide the winner, fan giveaways, and charity efforts by fellow fans and the organization.
Although the home opener has always been a highly attended game, filled with special promotions and an incredible atmosphere, Friday's victory marked the first time the Tomahawks were able to treat their fans to a "W" to kick off the first home series.

TUESDAY'S WORD:
"This was an interesting weekend for us, grabbing 3 of 4 points. I thought we had arguably our best game of the season so far Friday in our 5-2 win. I thought we played a very strong game, and really took control of the 3rd period en route to our first ever Home Opener win.
Saturday was a wild one. It was filled with a lot of up and down moments throughout, but I really liked the way our guys battled through the various elements of the game. Obviously we are not happy giving up the point in the shotout and not coming away with all 4 on the wekeend, but I think it was a quality learning situation for our group that we can grow from."
- Mike Letizia, Head Coach

MORE THAN HOCKEY : IT'S ABOUT GIVING BACK
Our special guest, Phil Bourque, signed a life sized banner that will be donated to Coptoberfest, an event raising funds for Camp Cadet programs and Operation Guardian for Distressed Officers across the Cambria-Somerset region.
At Tomahawks games, fans contribute to fundraisers through 50/50 Tickets and Chuck-A-Puck. At the home opener, 50/50 proceeds benefited the Johnstown Police Department, and Chuck-A-Puck helped to further the Johnstown Tomahawks Foundation in their mission to make a positive impact across our community.
Saturday, the Tomahawks wore teal specialty jerseys in an effort to promote Ovarian Cancer Awareness. These jerseys were then auctioned off to fans across the country through DASH Auctions, with proceeds benefiting the Ann Harris Smith Foundation.
