It's Elvis Night At Joker Marchant Stadium

Lakeland, FL (August 10th, 2006) - On Friday, August 11th, as the Lakeland Tigers take on the Tampa Yankees, the team will hold "Elvis Night" at the ballpark. Fans in attendance are encouraged to join the Lakeland Tigers staff and dress up as "The King." Game time on Friday night is 7:00 PM.

You'll hear Elvis' hits all night on the soundsystem and there will be special prizes given out during the game. There will be a costume contest for those who get into the Elvis spirit and other special promotions as part of the festivities.

Friday nights at the ballpark are also Community First Family Nights where kids 14 and under get in free of charge. It's the most affordable family fun you can find in Lakeland.

In addition, the Detroit Tigers 1st round pick in the 2006 draft (#6 overall), Andrew Miller, has joined the L-Tigers as he prepares to join Detroit in September. Miller, a lefthanded pitcher from the University of North Carolina will be pitching out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season and will join Detroit as a September callup when rosters expand. You could be in attendance when he makes his professional debut.

The Tigers and Yankees play a 2-game set with the Tigers traveling to Legends Field on Saturday before an off day on Sunday. The Tigers then begin a 4-game set with the Palm Beach Cardinals at Joker Marchant Stadium on Monday, August 14th.

Lakeland Tigers tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for children (14 & under) and $4 for seniors (55 and over.) Parking at Joker Marchant Stadium is free. Gates open one hour before game time.
