Islanders Look to Sweep Home-And-Home Series with NYRB II Saturday

Penn FC News Release
Harrisburg, PA (July 16, 2015) - Following a win on the road, the Harrisburg City Islanders will return home to face the New York Red Bulls II this Saturday in the back end of a home-and-home series with three important points on the line.
After suffering their worst defeat of the season, the Islanders went into New York on a quick turn around in need of a win. Until then, they hadn't won in over two months and were slowly slipping from the top of the tables.
The 2-0 win in New York pushed them passed the Red Bulls in the standings and right back into playoff contention. Craig Foster, one of the newest additions to the Islanders, made an immediate impact in his first game. His beautiful one-touch goal in the 20th minute looked like it was going to be the only tally of the game until Enric Valles converted a late-game penalty kick. Nick Noble kept a clean sheet with three saves.
New York is a team that is reeling having lost their previous two games that were against teams very close to them in the standings. Before those games they were ahead of Harrisburg and tied with Pittsburgh, now they trail both. They failed to score in both of those games, also giving up five goals. With those two loses they have fallen out of the top six in the league.
This will be the third and final meeting between the Red Bulls and Islanders. Harrisburg won the first two games in New York, giving up only one goal in the process, while putting up four of their own.
A win for the Islanders this weekend would put them tied in points with their cross-state rival Pittsburgh right before the third meeting between the teams coming up next week. It will be the first meeting between the rivals at Skyline Sports Complex this season.
