Charlottetown Islanders News Release
The Charlottetown Islanders completed a trade with the Sherbrooke Phoenix Wednesday morning as the QMJHL trading period opened ahead of the 2020 QMJHL Draft.
The Islanders traded third round picks with the Phoenix, acquiring the 39th overall pick in the 2020 QMJHL Draft in exchange for the 58th overall pick. The 58th overall pick was originally acquired from Sherbrooke as part of the Xavier Bernard trade from this past Christmas.
In addition, the Islanders re-acquired their 2020 sixth round pick (106th overall) from the Saint John Sea Dogs in exchange for their 2020 fourth round pick (70th overall). The sixth round pick was originally traded to the Sea Dogs ahead of the 2018-2019 season for Kevin Gursoy, and was upgraded to a fourth round pick after Gursoy scored 20 goals this past season.
