Island Storm Looking for Blood

Island Storm News Release
(Charlottetown, PE) Every minute of every day....someone needs blood. And that's why the Island STORM of the NBL Canada is helping Canadian Blood Services, at 85 Fitzroy Street in Charlottetown, get the word out.
While blood is always needed during the Holiday Season, people are busy and giving blood is not the first thing on their minds. Canadian Blood Services needs 34 addition donors on Christmas Eve Day from 8am to 12pm, 52 additional donors on Boxing Day from 9am to 1pm, and 32 additional donors on New Year's Eve from 8am to 12noon.
As a Special Gift to our STORM Fans, anyone who fills these needed appointments and donates blood will receive a pair of STORM Game Tickets for the STORMS Boxing Day game or New Year's Eve game.
Help is needed to fill these appointments in order to meet hospital demand. One of the very real challenges for Canadian Blood Services during the holidays is the continuity of platelet supply. Platelets, which are derived from blood donations, are often used by patients undergoing treatment for diseases such as cancer and halve a shelf life of just 5 days. There are patients in our hospitals who will be celebrating their holiday by receiving these gifts of life.
If you are eligible, please donate. Call 1-888-2-Donate to book an appointment or online at blood.ca. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Give the very best gift this Christmas, the Gift of Life, then come to the STORM game and cheer on "Your Island STORM" on Boxing Day against the Moncton Miracles and New Year's Eve against the Saint John Mill Rats.
