(Charlottetown, PE): The Saint John Mill Rats beat the Island Storm in a big way last night at Harbour Station. Today the tables were turned as the Storm earned payback 108-88 at the Eastlink Arena.

Saint John wasted no time digging a huge hole for itself, starting the game down 14-0. Gabe Freeman's hook shot put the Mill Rats on the board for the first time.

In the second quarter it looked as if the Mill Rats might make a game of it, cutting the lead to 36-30. But then Gabe Freeman picked up his third foul and had to leave the game. The Storm then rattled off a 13-1 run to put the Mill Rats in a 49-31 hole. A deficit that ballooned to 58-33 at the break.

Saint John shot an abysmal 30% from the floor in the first half.

The Mill Rats won the third quarter 26-17 to crawl within 75-59. In the fourth quarter the Mill Rats got as close as 12 before the lead expanded in garbage time.

Ricky Volcy had 20 points and 12 rebounds while Darren Moore added 14 points and 11 boards. The Mill Rats quartet of 20 point scorers were held to just 10-40 shooting from the field. North Preston, Nova Scotia native Terry Thomas scored 21 for the Storm.

The Storm improves to 3-5 while Saint John falls back to even at 4-4.

Saint John heads to Halifax for a road game on Wednesday January 14th to face the Halifax Hurricanes, before the two teams return back to Harbour Station on Thursday the 15th for a rematch at 7PM.
