Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Down to their final 12 games of the regular season, the IronPigs (70-62) play Game One a three-game series against the fourth-place Rochester Red Wings (66-65) at Frontier Field... With a doubleheader split with Toledo last night (W, 1-0; L, 5-2), the Pigs split their home series against the Hens, 2-2, and fell to a full game behind Pawtucket in the Wild Card race. Since July 6, the Pigs have gone just 19-26 in their last 45 contests -- going from a season-high 3.0-games up to a season-high 6.0-games back in the North... Rochester -- Minnesota's top affiliate -- lost last night 3-0 to split a two-game series in Pawtucket. The Wings have now lost four of their last five affairs since a 13-5 span. Once 39-47, the Wings have still gone 27-18 since July 5.
LHP Tom Cochran (7-5, 4.45) will start for LHV against RHP Nick Blackburn (2-0, 2.57).
First-Pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
WITH THE SPLIT LAST NIGHT, THE PIGS...:
* With SWB's 4-2 win vs. BUF, fell a season-high 6.0 GB of SWB in the North -- their largest deficit since ending 2010 at 29.5 GB.
* With PAW's 3-0 win vs. ROC, fell to 1.0 GB of PAW in the Wild Card race... Their buffer is 1.5 over COL, 2.0 (NOR) & 3.5 (ROC).
