June 24, 2011 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The first-place IronPigs (43-30) play Game One of a four-game series against the South's third-place Charlotte Knights (36-37) at Coca-Cola Park. With a 5-3 loss last night, the Pigs lost the series against Indianapolis, 3-1, by dropping three straight games. In fact, they've now dropped six of their last eight games after going into the off day on June 15 with a (tied for) season-best 41-24 record. Even so, Lehigh Valley is 33-19 since starting 10-11 (through April 28)... The Knights -- the White Sox top affiliate -- lost last night 7-2 at Rochester but still took the five-game series, 3-2. The surging Knights have won 10 of their last 14 affairs -- including a (tied for) season-high, five-game win streak, 6/17-20.
RHP Tim Redding (0-0, 4.50) will start on short notice for LHV against RHP Lucas Harrell (4-3, 3.25).
Tonight's game features Friday Night Fireworks, presented by TD Bank... First-pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
