Ironmen Head To Liberty State Park For Holiday Decorating Contest

Newark, N.J. (Monday, November 24, 2008) - Representatives from the New Jersey Ironmen are heading to Liberty State Park in Jersey City tomorrow for Liberty House Restaurant's 5th Annual Snowflakes Awards Contest. Beginning at 10:00 AM, midfielder Goran Vasic, forward Nebo Stamenkovic and IronDog will serve as celebrity judges in their annual holiday decorating contest.
"I am thankful to the Liberty House Restaurant for inviting us to this event," Vasic commented. "With the holiday season so close, it will be fun to see all of the excitement of these young children."
Liberty House Restaurant, located inside Liberty State Park, is hosting the event alongside their award-winning corporate giving program, "H.U.G." (Help Us Give). Principals from schools around the region have chosen one class (ranging from grades 1-5) to participate in this contest, and each school has made tree or menorah decorations which the students feel best represent their school or community. The actual contest will be done inside the Liberty House Restaurant, and a monetary donation will be given to the art departments of the top three schools.
Schoolchildren will be greeted by carols sung by the Dominoes of Dominic's Academy with Z100FM providing entertainment during the competition. A special appearance will also be made by Santa Claus at the event, and all trees and menorahs will remain on display in the restaurant for the entire holiday season.
The New Jersey Ironmen will make their 2008-09 season debut at Prudential Center on Sunday, December 14th, opening up their sophomore campaign at 4:00 p.m. against the Chicago Storm. The Ironmen are also partnering with Jersey Cares by hosting a coat drive at their home opener to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
