Introducing the Official Cyclones' Logo

July 21, 2006 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Twin City Cyclones News Release

The Pee Dee Cyclones Professional Hockey Team is formally announcing the change of the official logo. Even though most have previous knowledge of the change, the Cyclones would like to make an official statement as to the reasons for the change.

Majority owner of the Cyclones, Bob Kerzner commented; "We received positive feedback from the fans during last season's play-offs when we unveiled the new logo on our play-off jerseys. Overall, the fans seemed to like the new logo and jersey style. We felt that it was time for a change."

The new "twister" logo will replace the former logo which featured the Cyclones' mascot, "Cy" the woodpecker. The Cyclones, however, will continue to use "Cy" as the official mascot.
