JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 4, 2015) - The Armada FC, Jacksonville's new North American Soccer League team, announced on Tuesday forward Pascal Millien and defender Shawn Nicklaw will be called up for international duty by their respective nations later this month.

Two of Jacksonville's top players so far in the preseason, Millien and Nicklaw are the first players to be chosen for international duty in club history.

"This is a very exciting honor for Pascal and Shawn," said Armada FC General Manager Dario Sala. "It is a great thing for our club when our players are called upon for international duty because of the exposure it generates. I look forward to seeing them both lead their respective nations to victory."

Millien, who was named Farah & Farah Man of the Match in the Armada FC's 1-0 win over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in a preseason friendly on Feb. 28 in Jacksonville, was selected to represent Haiti in its international friendly against China on March 27 in Guangzhou, China, and against another Asian opponent to be determined on March 31. He has 21 international caps for Haiti since 2006.

"It is a great honor to play for my country," Millien said. "I love to represent the flag. Every time I get called up, I feel blessed. I know a lot of players want to be in that position, and to get called up in my first year with Jacksonville is special. I am looking forward to it."

Nicklaw, who scored the Armada FC's game-winning goal in the club's win on Saturday, will join the Guamanian national team on March 28 in Hong Kong for its international friendly against Hong Kong. He has played in four friendlies for Guam, nicknamed the Matao.

"Shawn is an integral member of our team, and he is developing into a very accomplished international player," said Guam head coach Gary White. "His drive and commitment to continue to learn and develop is what separates him. As a national team head coach, it's so refreshing for me to work with a club like the Armada FC. It's an extremely exciting and important year for us with the upcoming FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifiers, and we expect Shawn to shine during these games and make a further name for himself and the Armada FC in Asia and across the globe."

A native of San Diego, Calif., Nicklaw began his association with the Guam national team in 2012 after being recruited. His mother is a native Guamanian, and his brother, Travis, who currently plays college soccer for San Diego State, has previously been called up to play for Guam.

Millien and Nicklaw are two of five Armada FC players with international experience. The group also includes Jaime Castrillón (Colombia), Nurdin Hrustic (Bosnia U21) and Alhassane Keita (Guinea).

"I think it's very important for the team especially because we are a new team and they are representing us," said Armada FC co-head coach Guillermo Hoyos. "It is something important for the club, City of Jacksonville and NASL."

"I'm extremely happy because getting called up to play for your national team is something all soccer players dream of," said Armada FC co-head coach José Luis Villarreal. "It's not just playing for a great club but it's being able to play at the national level that is so great."
