Injury Replacements named, Team Captains named

Minnesota Swarm defenseman Darryl Gibson and Edmonton Rush defenseman Cam Bergman have been selected to the 2006 All-Star Game lineup to replace a pair of injured players. Rochester Knighthawks defenseman Marshall Abrams and Edmonton Rush defenseman Andrew Turner have each suffered injuries, forcing them out of Saturday's All-Star Game. Gibson was selected to replace Abrams on the East Division All-Star Team and Bergman was selected to replace Rush teammate Andrew Turner on the West Division All-Star Team.

Arizona Sting defenseman Peter Lough will serve as captain of the West Division All-Stars, with Calgary Roughnecks' forward Tracey Kelusky and Colorado Mammoth forward Gavin Prout serving as assistant captains. For the East Division, Toronto Rock forward Jim Veltman will serve as captain, with Buffalo Bandits' forward John Tavares and Rochester Knighthawks' defenseman Steve Toll serving as assistant captains. The captains were chosen by the coaching staff of the respective East and West All-Star teams.

The 2006 All-Star Game, the sixth in league history, will take place in Toronto's Air Canada Centre on Saturday, February 26 at 4 PM ET. The weekend begins with the Hall of Fame Game, a regular season contest between Philadelphia and Toronto, on Friday, February 25 at 7:30 PM ET. The weekend coincides with the induction of the five charter members of the National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame: league founders Russ Cline & Chris Fritz, lacrosse legends Paul & Gary Gait, and the late Les Bartley, the winningest coach in league history.
