Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release

(Wilkes-Barre, PA) The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are very proud to announce that Head Coach Rich Ingold has the most coaching victories in arenafootball2 league history. The Pioneers defeated the Tri-Cities Fever in the first round of the 2007 ArenaCup Playoffs on Saturday night to move onto the American Conference Semifinals and give Coach Ingold his 58th victory. Ingold was tied with Chris Siegfried who helped guide the expansion Spokane Shock to the ArenaCup title in 2006.

"It's a huge milestone for coach. It says a lot about what he's accomplished and what he expects of his players," stated Pioneers kicker David Davis. "This achievement puts him in a league of his own. Coach's preparation on and off the field is what he's known for and his mentality all season long has been focused on bringing an ArenaCup Championship to the area. He has emphasized to the team that the road to glory must be traveled one game at a time."

"Coach Ingold has battled with a great deal of adversity with himself and the team this season to get to this point," commented Pioneers captain Doug Harding. "From myself, my teammates, and the fans; we would like to thank coach for reaching this milestone with the Pioneers and putting the team in the best position to win the ArenaCup. This could not have happened to a better coach."
