Columbia Inferno News Release
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Oct. 26, 2007)- Friday night marks the 2007-08 home opener for the Columbia Inferno, as the Augusta Lynx visit the Carolina Coliseum. Face-off is set for 7:05 p.m.
The club will be accepting dry goods and canned donations for the Palmetto Health Food Drive. The donations collected will be redistributed to local food banks and charities.
The Inferno will also distribute magnetic schedules, compliments of Time Warner Cable, to the game's first 1,500 fans.
Columbia resident and Olympic-hopeful figure skater Laci Stapp will be performing a routine during the first intermission. Used cell phones will be collected at the gates, with the proceeds of the collection split between Stapp's continued training and the South Carolina Humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The Inferno will continue their five-game home stand Saturday night as they host the Charlotte Checkers for Military Night.
