
Inferno Hire Paul Marriott

COLUMBIA (Sept. 17, 2007)-- Paul Marriott has been named the Columbia Inferno's Vice President of Business Operations, the club announced today. Jimmy James, who had served as the club's Interim General Manager, has returned to his consulting career.
Marriott spent 11 years working in minor league baseball, bringing a wealth of sports management experience to the Inferno. Most recently, Marriott was the general manager of the Batavia Muckdogs, a single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies in Batavia, N.Y. from 1999 through 2006.
Prior to running the Muckdogs operation, Marriott was the assistant general manager of the Auburn Doubledays, a single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros based in Auburn, N.Y., from 1997 through 1999.
Marriott began his sports management career with the Charleston RiverDogs as a stadium operations intern in 1995. He then worked as the merchandise manager for the Boston Red Sox of Florida in Ft. Myers from 1995 through 1997.
Marriott lives in Lexington with his wife and three children.
