ROME, Ga. - For the Rome Renegades the opportunity to play for the National Indoor Football League Championship this inaugural season is a great success, but if things couldn't get better this Atlantic Conference Championship team will also have the opportunity to play in front of a sold out crowd and many scouts from various professional leagues.

Indoor Bowl V will be played in the 5, 746 capacity Three Rivers Coliseum in Kennewick, Washington. It only took 25 hours to sell the Coliseum out, and the line at the ticket window was 100 yards long at 4 a.m. yesterday. "Honestly, this was the first time we've faced this situation before," said Angie Mykel, Coliseum sales director. "These are the strongest sales we've had for a sporting event in the building." At the first of the week there were some concerns about ticket sales due to an annual Hydroplane Boat Race that will also be held over the weekend on the nearby Columbia River. "We weren't sure how well this event would do since there are so many things to do," Mykel said. "The race brings upwards of 50,000 or more spectators to the area. Everyone was concerned about the impact on the hotels and restaurants, but it has created a very positive effect on the situation."

Ticket holders for Saturday's sold out event will include many scouts from other football leagues including John Elway, owner of the AFL Colorado Crush. Tri-Cities Fever owner, Terri Carr, said their office had been receiving several calls from scouts, and accommodations have been made for their attendance at the game. "We have reserved a sky box for various scouts form other leagues seating up to twelve guests," said Carr on Tuesday, July 26.
