Indianapolis Children's Choir to Perform Opening Night
April 11, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release
INDIANAPOLIS -- Members of the Indianapolis Children's Choir (ICC) will perform the National Anthem at Victory Field on Friday, April 13, before the first pitch of the Indianapolis Indians home opener.
The ICC is made up of eight performing choirs featuring children from fourth grade to high school. It was founded in 1986 by artistic director Henry Leck and is housed at Butler University, where Leck serves as Director of Choral Activities. The ICC sponsors over 3,000 children from over 20 counties in Indiana and is always welcoming new members, with no experience necessary.
In February, members of the ICC performed the National Anthem in support of national recording artist Kelly Clarkson at Super Bowl XLVI and on Sunday, April 15, an ICC choir will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City. This summer, singers with the ICC will also be traveling to Spain.
The ICC is available for private and corporate bookings. More information can be found at www.icchoir.org.
