
Indiana maintains top position in playoff power rankings
November 28, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association today announced the current Playoff Power Rankings, the sixteen top teams in the ABA based on the number of games played, records, difficulty of schedule and other considerations. The top sixteen teams at season's end will host games in the first round of the sudden death playoffs with the Final Four scheduled to be held in mid-March in Texas. The Indiana Alley Cats hold onto the number one position with a 7-0 record closely followed by the Gallup Talons.
According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "As other teams begin to play their schedules, it appears that there are some very strong teams but they haven't played enough to break into the rankings. We anticipate you'll be seeing some new names as the weeks unfold."
