Indiana Alley Cats Come Back to Beat Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA (December 11, 2005) - The Indiana Alley Cats rallied to win at Pittsburgh for the second time in less than a week, 110 - 106. The Alley Cats were able to take 6 quarter points in the victory. The Alley Cats improved to 3-3 on the season with the victory.

Carl Edwards, playing in only his second game with the Alley Cats since being picked up, led them with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Shaun Fountain had another outstanding all-around game. He put up 25 points, dished out 12 assists, came up with 7 steals, and recorded 5 rebounds. DeAndre Walker also had 25 points to go along with 9 rebounds. Rounding out the Alley Cats in double figures was J.J. Sullinger with 10. Once again, Indiana was out-rebounded on the boards 53 - 38, but was about to make up for it by forcing 27 Pittsburgh turnovers and shooting 49% from the field.

Indiana got into an early bind by trailing by ten, 39 - 29, at the end of the first quarter. They were able to win the second quarter, but still trailed at halftime by a score of 58 - 56. The Alley Cats established a lead at the end of the third quarter, before winning the fourth and final quarter by three points.

Janerio Spurlock led the Xplosion with a game-high 29 points. Pittsburgh had two other plays score at least 20 points. Former West Virginia star Kevin Pittsnoggle added 21, while Shawn Hawkins had 20. Marvin Phillips had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Isaac Jefferson had a game-high 12 rebounds in the loss. The loss drops the Skyrockets to 0-5 on the season.

The Alley Cats continue their 3 game road trip Friday night at Yakama. Game time is scheduled for 10:05. The Alley Cats return home to face the Pittsburgh Xplosion on Wednesday, December 20th at 7:00. All home games will be played at the Anderson High School Wigwam.
