Ignoffo Crowned 2022 NECBL All Star Game HR Derby Champ

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass. - Upper Valley Nighthawks third baseman Ryan Ignoffo (Eastern Illinois) was crowned the 2022 NECBL Home Run Derby champion Sunday afternoon after hitting twenty-seven total home runs across the two rounds.

Ignoffo hit thirteen bombs in the finals, which just edged Newport's Colton Ledbetter (Mississippi St). Ledbetter was the runner-up with twelve homers in the final round.

The league had fourteen players participating in the Home Run Derby Sunday afternoon at the Shark Tank, with each team having a representative. In Round 1, every player had three minutes to hit as many homers as possible without timeouts or stoppages. The top two home run hitters from Round 1 moved on to the Championship Round. In the Championship Round, Ledbetter and Ignoffo were each allotted four minutes to hit with a thirty-second timeout available.

Round 1

Ben Huber (Bristol, 1B, Connecticut): Huber hit nine bombs in the first round. The first baseman has one home run this season, coming against Martha's Vineyard on July 8. Huber has also posted five RBIs, sixteen runs scored, seventeen hits and eight walks in twenty-one games this season.

Harrison Feinberg (Danbury, OF, Southern California): Feinberg also hit nine homers in Round 1. He is tied for the Westerners lead with five bombs this season, the most recent coming against the Valley Blue Sox on July 12. The outfielder is slugging .452 in twenty-one games and holds eleven RBIs, thirteen runs and a .250 average to his name.

Jackson Ross (Keene, IF/OF, Florida Atlantic): Ross was the third straight player to hit nine home runs in the first round. He leads the SwampBats and is third in the NECBL with eight bombs this year, his most recent occuring against Martha's Vineyard on July 16. The utility man has two multi-homer games. Ross hit two home runs against Winnipesaukee on two separate occasions. He leads Keene with a .299 average, thirty-two RBIs, twenty-two runs and fourteen sixteen in thirty-six games.

Ben Nardi (Martha's Vineyard, RF/1B, Catholic): Nardi was tied for third in the derby with eleven bombs in Round 1. He is yet to record a home run this year in the regular season. In fifty-six at-bats and seventeen games, the Shark has thirteen runs scored, seven RBIs, eleven walks and a .268 average.

Charlie Pagliarini (Mystic, INF, Fairfield): Pagliarini hit seven homers in the first round. He is tied for the Schooners home run lead with four on the season. The infielder's last homer came in a 13-9 victory over Newport on July 22. He has posted twenty-one RBIs, twenty-one hits and twenty-three walks in thirty-six games with the Schooners.

Colton Ledbetter (Newport, OF, Mississippi St): Ledbetter moved onto the Championship Round after smacking twelve home runs in Round 1. He leads the NECBL with eleven homers. The outfielder has two back-to-back home run days, the first coming on June 13 and 14 against the Sharks. His most recent homer streak was on July 15 against Danbury and July 16 versus Valley. He leads Newport in virtually every category, with a .383 average, fourty-five RBIs (ranks first in the league), fourty-one runs (ranks first in the league) and twenty-six walks in fourty games.

Cedric Rose (North Adams, 1B, Massachusetts Lowell): Rose hit two bombs in the first round. He leads the SteepleCats with five homers this season, most recently against Vermont on July 19. Rose has eighteen RBIs, a .288 batting average, twenty runs and ten walks in thirty-three games.

Nathan Blasick (North Shore, OF, West Virginia): Blasick was tied for third in the derby with eleven homers in the first round. He is also tied for the Navigators lead with two home runs this season. His most recent bomb came in a three-RBI effort against Upper Valley on July 10. Blasick leads the team with fifteen RBIs and has posted a .248 average with twelve runs, eight doubles and twenty walks in thirty-three games.

Dan Baruch (Ocean State, OF, Boston College): Baruch hit five homers in Round 1. He has three bombs this season, the most recent against Martha's Vineyard on July 14. Baruch has ten RBIs, eleven hits and eight runs in twenty-one games with the Waves.

Quinn McDaniel (Sanford, 2B, Maine): McDaniel smacked seven bombs in the first round. He leads the Mainers with seven home runs this year, his most recent proving to be the difference in a 4-3 win over Bristol on July 22. The second baseman also leads Sanford with twenty-nine RBIs. He has posted a .307 average with twenty-seven runs and twenty walks in thirty-six games.

Ryan Ignoffo (Upper Valley, 3B, Eastern Illinois): Ignoffo led the first round with fourteen homers and moved onto the Championship Round. He is second in the NECBL with ten bombs this season. His most recent home run came in his last game on July 17 against Ocean State. He had a two-homer outing against North Adams on June 19. Ignoffo has forty-four RBIs (ranks second in the league) and a .372 average, twenty-seven runs and twelve doubles in thirty-four games.

Sam Franco (Valley, OF, Purdue): Franco put nine over the fence in Round 1. He is tied for the Valley lead with three homers, all coming in a seven game period. His most recent bomb lifted the Blue Sox over the Mystic Schooners in a 4-3 win on June 21. Franco has eleven RBIs, twenty-six hits and eighteen runs in twenty-nine games.

Stephen DiTomaso (Vermont, OF, George Washington): DiTomaso hit eight bombs in the first round. He leads Vermont with five home runs, the most recent coming against the Sharks on July 21. He is first on the Mountaineers with twenty-five RBIs and has thirty-two hits and twenty-five runs in thirty-two games.

Patrick Roche (Winnipesaukee, SS/2B, Boston College): Roche smacked seven home runs in Round 1. He leads the Muskrats with five homers on the year, including bombs in his last three games. He is first on the Muskrats with twenty-two RBIs and has seventeen runs, eight doubles and a .290 batting average in thirty games.

Championship Round

Colton Ledbetter (Newport, OF, Mississippi St): Ledbetter went first after Ryan Ignoffo elected to go second. He hit twelve homers in the final round, bringing his total for the day to twenty-four. Ledbetter hit eight bombs before calling his thirty-second timeout.

Ryan Ignoffo (Upper Valley, 3B, Eastern Illinois): Ignoffo got the victory, smacking thirteen homers in the final round, bringing his daily total to twenty-seven. He also hit eight home runs before calling his thirty-second timeout. Following the break and with about one minute left, Ignoffo hit five bombs to take the crown.
