Upcoming Games

After knocking off the League's hottest team in the Blast last weekend, the Ignition will have two chances to secure a playoff position during a home-and-home series against the California Cougars this weekend. The magic number for the Ignition is just one, consisting of any combination of a Detroit win or a Milwaukee Wave loss, moving the first-year club into the playoffs. The two games this weekend will be the final two regular season matchups between the League's two newest member clubs.

Cougars Players to Watch:

Enrique Tovar - Now in his third season with the Cougars, Tovar has placed himself among the MISL's elite forwards ranking eighth in League scoring with 24 total goals and nine assists for 58 points.

Vicente Figueroa - Last season's MISL Rookie of the Year, Figueroa has picked up where he left off with 21 total goals and seven assists for 54 points, good for tenth in League scoring.

Stat of the Week:

An early lead is a positive first step towards an Ignition victory. In the 12 games Detroit has been on the board first, the club has registered an 8-4 record. In the 12 contests where the Cougars have tallied first goals, the club has still struggled with a 3-9 record.
