Ignition To Hold Open Tryouts

(Southfield, Mich., August 20, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition will hold open tryouts on September 15, 2007 at the club's training facility, High Velocity Sports, team President Greg Bibb announced Monday. The tryouts give area talent and international players alike the chance to compete for a spot on the 2007-08 Ignition roster. The annual event will begin at 9 a.m. EST and continue until 5 p.m. Following the tryouts, a select group of participants will be asked to return to an invitation-only combine slated for September 21 and 22 at High Velocity Sports.

Last year's tryouts featured over 100 participants representing 13 states and four countries globally. An impressive local turnout included a number of former area collegiate level players representing a total of 13 Michigan colleges.

The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in October 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
