
Ignition to Face La Raza De Monterrey

(Southfield, Mich., April 14, 2008) - The Detroit Ignition will face the expansion La Raza de Monterrey in the semifinal round of the 2008 MISL Championship Series. The matchup was solidified after Monterrey defeated the Chicago Storm in Game 2 and the "Golden Goal" game of the quarterfinals on Sunday, April 13. The Ignition, who won the league's regular season title, posted a 1-2 record against La Raza in the regular season.
Game 1 of the two-game semifinal series will be played on Friday, April 18 at 10:45 pm (EST) in Monterrey. The Ignition will host Game 2 on Sunday, April 20 at 4:35 pm at Compuware Arena. A "Golden Goal" mini-match series tie-break will be played immediately following Game 2 if necessary.
Ignition practice is scheduled daily through Thursday of this week at High Velocity Sports in Canton and is open to the media upon request.
The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in November 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
