Ignition Introduces Dance Team

(Southfield, Mich., August 2, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition has selected the 16 women who will comprise the 2007-08 edition of the club's official dance team, The Spark, team President Greg Bibb announced today. Dance team hopefuls participated in open auditions and interviews before the final auditions which were held on Friday, July 27 at Tequila Rain in Novi. The latest edition of The Spark consists of 11 newcomers and 5 returning dancers from the squad's inaugural campaign. The 2007-08 Spark roster is as follows:

The Spark is a professional dance team that focuses on energy, enthusiasm, crowd appeal, fan interaction, and game day performances. The Spark perform at all Detroit Ignition home games, as well as at numerous special events and fundraisers throughout the year.
The Ignition also announced today Melissa Adam, a member of the inaugural Spark squad, has been named the team's new In-Arena hostess. Ms. Adam will serve as emcee for all Detroit Ignition home games, circulating through the stands and interacting with the audience during game stoppages.
The Detroit Ignition is a member club of the Major Indoor Soccer League, and begins the team's second season in October 2007 after advancing to the MISL Championship Finals during the 2006-07 season.
