Ignition Ink Partnership Deal With Volkswagen

(Southfield, Mich., January 15, 2009) - The Detroit Ignition have entered into a partnership with The Detroit Area Volkswagen Dealers, the club announced today. As part of the agreement, the dealer group receives "presenting sponsor" status for the Ignition's 2009 summer soccer camp program along with various marketing benefits throughout the remainder of the team's 2008-09 season. During each of the Ignition's remaining eight home games, VW is giving fans the chance to win a two-year lease on a 2009 mini-van by entering an in-arena contest. The contest winner will be announced at the Ignition's final home game on April 3, 2009.
The Ignition's summer soccer camp program, which began in 2007, grew to over 1,400 campers last summer. The Ignition has hosted camps throughout the metro Detroit area, and is hoping to expand further into the state this summer.

"VW's nationally respected reputation adds a great deal of strength to our family of corporate partners, and we're excited to welcome them to the world of indoor soccer."

The Detroit Ignition is a charter member of the Xtreme Soccer League, and began the team's third season in December 2008 after completing the 2007-08 season as regular-season champions of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
