Ignition And Detroit Medical Center Announce Partnership

(Southfield, Mich., January 8, 2009) - The Detroit Ignition and Detroit Medical Center have entered into a partnership that makes DMC the Official Healthcare Services Provider of the Detroit Ignition. DMC is also the official healthcare services provider of the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons and Shock. Per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
To kick off the partnership, six Ignition players will be visiting patients at DMC's Children's Hospital of Michigan on Tuesday, January 13 at 2:00 pm. Following brief remarks, Ignition players will perform fun skills demonstrations with Children's Hospital patients.
"We are very fortunate to welcome one of the area's premier health care providers as our partner," Ignition Vice President of Business Operations Lindsey Gamrod said. "The health and fitness of our athletes is a vital part of our business, and we know that DMC will provide them with the most expert care available."
Said DMC COO Ben Carter, "The DMC is proud to be added to Detroit's premier soccer team's roster as its official health care services provider. We look forward to working together to continue the championship level of performance that this team has established."
The Detroit Ignition is a charter member of the Xtreme Soccer League, and began the team's third season in December 2008 after completing the 2007-08 season as regular-season champions of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
