Iowa Barnstormers @ Green Bay Blizzard - Friday, 6:05 P.M. CT
Spread: -11.5 (GB)
O/U: 77.5
mL: N/A
Kicking off Week Six, the Iowa Barnstormers (0-4) take on the Green Bay Blizzard (3-1). In a matchup against Midwest rivals, the Blizzard are favored by 11.5 points.
Green Bay comes into this week having won three games in a row, most recently defeating the Sioux Falls Storm. Quarterback Max Meylor returned to play, giving the Blizzard an offensive spark with his six touchdowns. Atop Meylor's stellar offensive performance, the Green Bay defense shined bright, forcing four turnovers while causing chaos in Sioux Falls' backfield all night.
Last week, Iowa came up short in a battle with Arizona. The Barnstormers enter Week Seven with an offense that has struggled. Scoring an average of 32.8 points, the Iowa Barnstormers face off against the best defense at holding their opponent out of the end zone. Through four games, Green Bay has allowed 127 points, which averages 31.8 points allowed per game. That's the lowest in the league, making the Blizzard a challenge for Iowa in Week Seven.
With how these two teams match up, touchdowns look to be scarce. The Barnstormers' lowest-scoring offense against Green Bay's league-topping defense gives reason to believe there won't be many points scored, which is evident by the lowest over-under total of the week in 77.5 points.
San Antonio Gunslingers @ Frisco Fighters - Friday, 7:30 P.M. CT
Spread: -16.5 (FRI)
O/U: 102.5
mL: N/A
Wrapping up Friday night, the San Antonio Gunslingers (1-3) take on the Frisco Fighters (4-0). Both teams enter this week following a win, and both did so in convincing fashion.
Heading back to the Comerica Center in Week Seven after a week away, the Frisco Fighters are the final undefeated team remaining in the Eastern Conference. Frisco's offense, led by TJ Edwards, tops the league in rushing, as Edwards accounts for 14 of the Fighters' 18 rushing touchdowns. Defensively, the Fighters are one of the top dogs of the Indoor Football League, allowing a league-low 184.8 yards per game. Against a high-firing offense in San Antonio, the Frisco Fighters will be challenged on defense.
The Gunslingers enter the week having rang the IFL victory bell in Week Six for the first time in franchise history. Sam Castronova continued his strong 2024 season, extending his league lead in passing touchdowns with 20 on the season. Along with seven rushing touchdowns, Sam Castronova is quickly becoming a staple in the IFL. On the other side of the ball, San Antonio isn't as strong, allowing 57.8 points and 251 per game Against one of the most dominant rushing attacks in the league, San Antonio will have their work cut out for them.
The Frisco Fighters are expected to win convincingly as 16.5-point favorites at home Friday night against San Antonio.
With an over-under line of 102.5, this game is expected to be the highest-scoring game of the week. Both offenses have found the end zone easily through six weeks, and the same is to be expected in Week Seven.
Duke City Gladiators @ Vegas Knight Hawks - Saturday, 6:05 P.M. CT
Spread: -16.5 (VEG)
O/U: 86.5
mL: N/A
Kicking the action off on Saturday, the Duke City Gladiators (0-4) take on the Vegas Knight Hawks (4-0). The Vegas Knight Hawks are favored by 16.5 points, as they host the winless Gladiators in Week Seven.
Following a convincing win against Jacksonville the week before, Ja'Rome Johnson and the Vegas Knight Hawks come into the week red-hot. Johnson had one of the best games of his season, completing 86% of his passes and finding the end zone seven times. The Knight Hawks offense is humming, scoring an average of 52.8 points per game. Along with having an offense near the top of the league rankings, their defense is held in a similar regard. All around, the Vegas Knight Hawks have shown to be strong, as they enter this week heavily favored.
This season, the Duke City Gladiators have struggled offensively, scoring an average of 36 points per game, ranking near the bottom of the league. Defensively, however, they're middle-of-the-pack statistically. They'll be fighting an upward battle in Week Seven to earn their first win of the season, portrayed by the oddsmakers for this game.
The over-under line was set to 86.5, as it could be a one-sided affair. Vegas has shown not to hold back, scoring 60 points twice through four games this season. The Gladiators, however, scored 49 points in their highest-scoring game of 2024. For the over to hit, it could take heavy lifting from the Knight Hawks.
Massachusetts Pirates @ Sioux Falls Storm - Saturday, 7:05 P.M. CT
Spread: -10 (MASS)
O/U: 88.5
mL: N/A
In the second slate of games on Saturday night, the Massachusetts Pirates (4-1) take on the Sioux Falls Storm (0-4) on a neutral field in Fargo, ND as part of the inaugural IFL Gridiron Classic. The Pirates enter the week having had their winning streak broken the week before, while the Storm chase their first win of the season. The Pirates come into Saturday night as 10-point favorites against their winless opponent, having beaten the Storm once before this season 49-41.
Following a disappointing loss for the Pirates a week before, Massachusetts comes into this week looking for a victory to remain among the top in the Eastern Conference. A factor in Massachusetts' loss against Quad City was their lack of rushing game outside of quarterback Alejandro Bennifield. Both Jimmie Robinson and Tavion Thomas had quiet nights, making the Pirates offense one-dimensional. To win by double digits, the Pirates will hope to find success both through the air and on the ground.
Sioux Falls enters the week looking for their first win of the season, as home underdogs against the Pirates. The last time these two teams faced off, the Pirates won by eight points in a game that featured 40 points by each team. That stands as the Storm's best offensive performance of the year, as their offense hasn't reached 41 points since.
This game has an over-under line set at 88.5, which could be a battle to reach. Massachusetts averages 43.2 points per game, while the Storm averages 37 points per game. Both teams would need to surpass their average on the season for the over to hit.
Northern Arizona Wranglers @ Tucson Sugar Skulls - Saturday, 8:05 P.M. CT
Spread: -5.5 (NAZ)
O/U: 92.5
mL: NAZ -185
Wrapping up the action on Saturday night, the Northern Arizona Wranglers (3-1) open as five-and-a-half-point favorites against the Tucson Sugar Skulls (1-3). These two teams meet again, as the Wranglers have an advantage in the series following a 54-48 victory in Week Three.
Northern Arizona comes into Week Seven having won the week prior against the Duke City Gladiators in a low-scoring matchup. Joshua Jones had a strong performance on offense, while the Wranglers' defense was able to come away with four takeaways, including an interception returned for a touchdown by defensive lineman Ellison Jordan. With both sides of the ball having success the week prior, they enter this week with the momentum as away-team favorites.
The Tucson Sugar Skulls enter the week as home underdogs, as they face off against the Wranglers who were victorious the last time these two teams faced off. Without quarterback Mylik Mitchell, the Sugar Skulls' offense struggled a week ago, as Torrance Gibson and the Tucson offense went scoreless in the first quarter. After a strong victory against the Gladiators, Tucson has collected back-to-back losses.
Oddsmakers have the over-under line for this game set at 92.5, which is just under the sum of both teams' average points scored per game.
Tulsa Oilers @ Quad City Steamwheelers - Sunday, 3:05 P.M. CT
Spread: -7 (QC)
O/U: 82.5
mL: QC -285
Kicking off the Sunday action, the Tulsa Oilers (2-2) face-off against the Quad City Steamwheelers (2-2) in an Eastern Conference battle. The Steamwheelers enter favored by a touchdown and a successful PAT.
After spoiling Massachusetts' winning streak a week ago, the Quad City Steamwheelers enter the week as seven-point favorites. The Steamwheelers' offense had their best game of the season, scoring 54 points. Led by Judd Erickson and Edward Vander, the duo combined for all seven of Quad City's touchdowns against the Pirates a week ago. Along with a strong offensive performance, the Steamwheelers' defense came up big, causing two turnovers.
As road underdogs, the Oilers come into this week after a big loss to Frisco a week before. Tulsa's passing offense was successful behind quarterback Daniel Smith, finding the end zone three times, however, a lack of rushing attack was crucial. The Oilers combined for a total of nine yards, forcing Tulsa to air it out for the majority of the game. This week should look different, as the Steamwheelers haven't been strong against the run this season. Per game, they allow just under 100 yards to their opponents, making for a more favorable matchup in Tulsa's favor.
Both teams score about 38 points per game on average, making the over-under line of 82.5 a higher total than the two teams score on a week-to-week basis.
Jacksonville Sharks @ Arizona Rattlers - Sunday, 5:05 P.M. CT
Spread: -13.5 (ARI)
O/U: 81.5
mL: N/A
Following Sunday's matinee game, the Jacksonville Sharks (0-4) and Arizona Rattlers (2-3) face off in a cross-conference battle. Arizona comes into the week favored by 13.5 points.
After coming away with a narrow victory last week against the Barnstormers, Arizona is back in the winning column to break up a three-game losing streak. Quarterback Garrett Kettle made his way back onto the field, finishing the night 15/19 for 140 yards and three total scores. Shannon Brooks continues being a shining star for this offense, ending the night with 81 yards and three scores. Against a Sharks defense that allows 241.5 yards per game, the Rattlers match-up favorably.
In search of their first win of the season, the Jacksonville Sharks' offense continues to look for answers. Through four games, they average just 28.3 points per game, ranking lowest in the league. Against a strong offense in Arizona, the Sharks' defense could also be in for a long game, allowing the third-most yards per game in the league.
For the over-under line of 82.5 to be met, both sides will need to bring their A-game to Desert Diamond Arena on Sunday evening.
Bay Area Panthers @ San Diego Strike Force - Sunday, 5:05 P.M. CT
Spread: -3 (BAY)
O/U: 94.5
mL: BAY -148
In a rematch of Week Six, the Bay Area Panthers (4-0) take on the San Diego Strike Force (3-1) only one week after the Panthers spoiled the Strike Force's undefeated record.
Bay Area comes into the week favored by three points after coming away with a narrow victory of three points the week before against the same team. It was a hard-fought battle that came down to the last 13 seconds, as Felix Harper rushed four yards for the final touchdown of the night. The Panthers are one of the league's strongest teams from top-to-bottom, making them a challenge for each team they face. Having just defeated the Strike Force a week ago, Bay Area could be entering hostile territory in Week Seven.
After a last-second touchdown added the first tally to San Diego's loss column, the Strike Force immediately get an opportunity to even the series. Once Nate Davis entered the game, the Strike Force passing game was revitalized. Defensively, the Strike Force remained hungry for the ball, hauling in two more interceptions to bring them to a league-leading seven interceptions on the year. With the taste of defeat fresh in the mind of San Diego, the Strike Force looks to get a win in front of a home crowd this week.
Both teams find the end zone with ease offensively, as the oddsmakers have an over-under line of 94.5 set for this Week Seven matchup. These two teams combined for 103 points just a week before.
