IFL Terminates Membership of Louisville Xtreme
June 14, 2021 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release
Effective immediately, the Indoor Football League has moved to terminate the membership of the Louisville Xtreme for failure to meet and maintain league obligations. The move comes following a unanimous vote by the league's Board of Directors on Monday.
"This is a regrettable situation, but as our league continues to generate positive momentum this became a necessary action," said IFL Commissioner Todd Tryon. "We have tremendous respect for Victor Cole and his partners in Louisville and the hard work they put into developing Louisville as a viable IFL franchise. However, as we position the IFL for long-term success, it is imperative that we maintain the high standards we have set as a league."
Louisville will be removed from the league's remaining schedule, starting with this weekend's IFL games. This Saturday's IFL Game of the Week on Stadium, which was to feature the Xtreme taking on the Frisco Fighters, will now emanate from Tucson and feature a matchup between the Tucson Sugar Skulls and the Massachusetts Pirates.
The IFL recently announced a national television partnership with Stadium and continues to maintain its position as America's top indoor football league. In its 13thÃÂ season, the IFL boasts teams from coast to coast and features many iconic indoor football brands. Recently the league announced a new expansion franchise for the Las Vegas market owned by Vegas Golden Knights Chairman and CEO Bill Foley, in partnership with Dollar Loan Center Founder and CEO Chuck Brennan.
