IFL Announces Week Fifteen Players of the Week

June 23, 2022 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release


The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week 15 of the 2022 season. Frisco Quarterback, TJ Edwards, is the Offensive Player of the Week. Arizona Defensive Back, Kyree Woods, earns Defensive Player of the Week. Special Teams Player of the Week goes to Green Bay Kicker, Nick Jaworski.

TJ Edwards - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Frisco's fantastic season continues. They are comfortably leading the Eastern Conference, currently sitting atop the IFL Coaches Poll and now their playoff ticket has officially been punched. The Fighters secured a spot in the playoffs with an impressive win over the Iowa Barnstormers. Quarterback TJ Edwards had all cylinders firing. Edwards finished the night going 16-20 for 191 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 60 yards and five more touchdowns on the ground. Edwards was responsible for seven total touchdowns to help lock up the postseason for Frisco.

Kyree Woods - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

After a heart-breaking loss to Northern Arizona, the Rattlers had to turn around and face a dangerous Duke City team. They did so with a vengeance. Arizona excelled in all facets of the game. Defensive Back, Kyree Woods makes his second appearance as Defensive Player of the Week in 2022. Woods racked up 4.5 tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup and one interception that he returned for a touchdown.

Nick Jaworski - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Green Bay defeated the Sioux Falls Storm by a score of 42-40. This game can't be overstated for the Blizzard. It was imperative to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. It was a back and forth battle the entire night. Green Bay Kicker, Nick Jaworski was clutch. He finished the night with three field goals and three PATs bringing his total to 12 points. Including the game winning 35-yard field goal.

Week 16 features six games with every one of them carrying heavy playoff implications. Starting Friday night with Quad City visiting Vegas. Followed by five critical games on Saturday. Catch all of the action on the IFL YouTube Channel.
