
IFL Announces Week 12 Players Of The Week

Richmond, VA: The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Week Twelve Vidswap.com Players of the Week. As the playoff picture starts to take focus, Week Twelve provided close competition both on the field and for the prestigious weekly honors. Each week the IFL selects three players, one from each phase of the game, offense, defense, and specials teams, whose play on the field stood out among the rest of the competition. Ten games were featured in the twelfth weekend of football and the following player's performances propelled them to Week Twelve Vidswap.com Players of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week: RB Darius Fudge, Wichita Wild
Wichita continues to build on their push to the playoffs as they defeated the Sioux City Bandits this week 53-44. Running Back Darius Fudge went wild on an offensive explosion during the game. Fudge accounted for 91 yards and three TD's on 21 carries during the Wild's win. Not limited to just his stellar ground game, Fudge also was responsible for a touchdown with 15 yards on four receptions. Wichita will attempt to continue their offensive momentum against the San Angelo Stampede Express next week as the Wild return home.
Defensive Player of the Week: LB Landon Jones Colorado Ice
The Colorado Ice were in search for their first victory of the season at home in Week Twelve. They were successful in leaving the Tri-Cities Fever out in the cold by a final score of 57-41. The Ice were able to provide a solid offensive showing, but their defense also came up big as they were able to slow down a hot Fever offense. Leading the way was LB Landon Jones. A defensive powerhouse, Jones provided the pressure against Tri-Cities with 10.5 tackles, 1.5 of which were for a loss. He also recorded a sack on the day. The Ice and Jones will be able to savor the victory for another week as they have a Bye in Week Thirteen.
Special Teams Player of the Week: K Pete Christofilakos, Bloomington Extreme
Bloomington was looking to gain ground in the Central North as they went up against divisional opponents, the Chicago Slaughter. The Slaughter had just come off a week where they upset the Green Bay Blizzard, but despite that momentum, they still could not put down the Extreme. Bloomington rode the leg of Kicker Pete Christofilakos to squeak out a 33-30 victory. With two seconds left in the game, Christofilakos drilled the game winning field goal. He was 4 for 5 on the day as well as a perfect 3 for 3 on extra point attempts. Bloomington will look to continue building a potential playoff resume as they take on the La Crosse Spartans in Week Thirteen.
